This new product promises to correct undereye bags, which is one of our most common complaints as we age. I have been following this new development in the medical literature over the past year from scientists and doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Neotensil is not a cosmetic or a procedure, but an actual product that you buy. It has already been approved by the FDA as a truly effective medical device.
Neotensil is a polymer film, applied below the eye, that will correct undereye bags for up to 16 hours. Dermatologist Doris Day has described it as “shapewear” for the aging skin.
Already, Neotensil has been making the news across the country. Click here to see a story and demonstration of Neotensil in action on a recent episode of Good Morning America.
The Neotensil Under-Eye Reshaping Procedure, its official name, compresses and smooths the loose skin under the eye, which re-contours the appearance of bagging and tiredness. Once the device is in place, the polymer film is invisible and completely flexible, resulting in smooth skin while also allowing for natural facial expressions.
Studies done for FDA approval process used subjects age 30-70 over five dermatology and plastic surgery centers. 89% of subjects described as having moderate or severe undereye problems showed marked improvement. 99% of subjects showed some visible improvement in overall undereye appearance.
One of the study doctors, Dr. Patricia Farris of Tulane University School of Medicine, was quoted in a recent article about Neotensil: “Our patients are impressed with the results and so are we. Everyone we treated got significant results. Those with severe undereye problems certainly improved and were happy, but the group with moderate problems really hit the biggest home run. It is a really impressive product.”
The application is a 2-step process that does require some training to be used properly. It will only be available to medical offices where personnel at those offices are trained through Valeant Pharmaceuticals, and that will include us at Maine Laser Skin Care.
Our own Becky and Denise are both trained on how to use Neotensil. They can show you how to apply it, and your first treatment is just $25 if you want to try it out for a day, or you only want it for a special event.
I am excited to offer Neotensil at Maine Laser Skin Care as part of my mission to offer you the most advanced and effective aesthetic technologies. If you interested or know someone who might benefit from this revolutionary development, call for a free consultation at 207-873-2158.
