I know it seems like Botox has been around for a long time, but it is a treatment that continues to grow in popularity year after year here at Maine Laser Skin Care without any signs of slowing down. And the most common remark I hear from people inquiring about Botox is “I hate my 11’s.”
For those who are not aware of the term, “11’s” is the term that is used for the two vertical lines that appear between the eyes, also known as “scowl lines”. 11’s specifically refer to two prominent lines, but there can also be one line (a.k.a. “1’s”) or even three (“111’s”) as seen in the picture above.
However, you would be amazed what Botox can do when administered in between the eyes and above the nose. Within a few days of Botox injections to that area, those lines are history, resulting in the person appearing much more relaxed, less angry, and certainly years younger.
To review, Botox is a purified protein produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria. Although technically considered a toxin, the dosage to treat wrinkles is millions of times less than that which would cause toxicity.
Additionally, Botox injections are made in a very localized area. Once injected, they do not spread elsewhere in the body.
Due to ongoing demand for Botox from regular and new patients alike, Maine Laser Skin Care remains one of the top Botox administrators in the state of Maine, and definitely #1 north of Portland. Another difference is that I, a board-certified physician, personally administer and inject all Botox in our Augusta office.
I take pride in my expertise with Botox, and with its ability to take years off of someone’s appearance. If you keep hearing about Botox, and are curious as to whether it might be right for you, please call us for a free consultation at 207-873-2158.
