This problem can result in an older and heavier look to the face and neck, as seen in the picture on the left. “Double chin” can affect a broad range of both men and women.
The FDA has recently approved the first and only injectable and non-surgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of moderate to severe “double chin”. The active ingredient in this new product, Kybella, is a naturally-occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat.
Kybella is injected into the fat under the chin and causes the destruction of the localized fat cells. Once these cells are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat permanently.
Thus far, studies involving Kybella have been resoundingly successful. In trials with this Kybella injection, 79% of patients reported high levels of satisfaction with the face and chin appearance after treatment.
The good news is that I have been selected as one of the first doctors in Maine to receive the training for injection of this new therapy. But that’s not the only good news.
The company that develops Kybella, Kythera Biopharmaceuticals, is allowing me to offer 2 treatments of this therapy at 1/2 price to the first 5 patients I treat with this therapy. I am writing this post to give you a head start on that list of 5.
The program will start in mid-August 2015, and will involve 2 treatments that will be at least 1 month apart. If you are interested in participating, give my staff at Maine Laser Skin Care a call at (207) 873-2158 as soon as possible to get you name on the list.
