Many of you are aware that I was away from Maine Laser Skin Care last week for some advanced medical training. I made a pilgrimage from the relatively cool climes of Maine to the hot and muggy shores of Mobile Bay in Alabama for a very important purpose.
If you have been following the news over the past several years, especially the entertainment news, you may have heard of the procedure known as the “Vampire Facelift”. This procedure is when the person’s own serum derived from blood is reinjected into his or her face to stimulate improved skin tone, texture, and volume.
I had heard of the Vampire Facelift, and even had some initial training in the blood separation process. However, as I always have done in the past, I want the best training possible and as close to the source of development as possible.
Through my research and reading, I learned that this procedure had been perfected and even trademarked by a physician from Fairhope, Alabama by the name of Charles Runels MD, author of the book, Vampire Facelift: The Secret Blood Method to Revive Youth and Restore Beauty. Dr. Runels does conduct training workshops for physicians to learn his techniques in a small and very hands-on manner and implement them in their practices.
When I looked at the workshop schedule in the winter, the first available opening was in July, so I signed up despite the prospect of heat and humidity. Still, of the many medical conferences, workshops and continuing education sessions I have attended over the last several decades, this workshop was definitely the top learning experience for me since medical school and residency.
In future blog posts, I will share some more details of the various procedures I learned during this time away. Rest assured that these procedures are backed by medical studies and are on the cutting edge of medical science.
This procedure category is truly very exciting for me to introduce to the Augusta, Maine area, and I will be only one of two doctors in Maine trained to perform Vampire therapies. The list of procedures on which I have received certification include the following:
- Vampire Facelift
- Vampire Facial
- Vampire Hair Restoration for both Men and Women
- Vampire Breastlift
- O-Shot for female urinary incontinence and sexual health
- P-Shot (Priapus Shot) for male erectile dysfunction
I know that some of you may cringe at the designation of Vampire, but it is a catchy phrase that describes that we are using the patient’s own blood products to rejuvenate their skin and bodily functions. Be on the lookout for my future reports in this space as I roll out these procedures.
