7–28 Days Prior to Treatment
Hydrate and Protect:
 • Moisturize skin at least twice daily (AM and PM)
 • Increase water intake to at least 8 glasses (8 oz) per day
 • Avoid prolonged sun exposure for two weeks leading up to treatment appointment
 • Use a mineral-based sunscreen with SPF 30+ if sun exposure is unavoidable

3–7 Days Prior to Treatment
Prepare Your Skin:
 • Discontinue topical retinoids (e.g., Retin-A)
 • If you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, talk to your provider about starting an antiviral medication

Day of Treatment
Prep for the Appointment:
 • Cleanse the skin thoroughly in the treatment area
 • Shower the morning of treatment as you won’t be able to shower after
 • Remove all makeup, lotions, self-tanner, perfumes, gels, ointments, and hairspray
 • Do not use alcohol-based cleansers (they can dry out the skin)
 • Pre-treatment photos will be taken
 • Topical numbing cream will likely be applied and then removed before the procedure begins

Post Treatment Instructions

Proper care post-treatment is essential for healing and results.

Immediately After
 • Use cool compresses. Do not apply ice directly to face.
 • Once heat perception fades, apply Vaseline or Petrolatum ointment. NO Aquaphor

Typical Healing Times:
 • Expect redness (3–5+ days)
 • Swelling, and a sunburn-like sensation (1–3 days)

Soothing Vinegar Soaks (As Recommended)
 • Mix 1 Tbsp distilled white vinegar with 1 cup water
 • Store in the fridge for a cooling effect
 • Moisten gauze and apply to skin several times/day

Important Cautions
 • Don’t allow pets to lick your face
 • Avoid alcohol for a few days to reduce risk of bruising
 • Sleep with your head elevated to minimize swelling

🕒 Daily Routine (Days 1–7)
AM Routine:
 • Wash with gentle cleanser (like Cetaphil), and blot dry
 • Apply post-treatment product (if provided)
 • Wait 10 mins, apply mineral-based SPF 30+
 • Let SPF sit 5 mins undisturbed
 • Apply Vaseline or Petrolatum — thin layer (dime-sized)
PM Routine:
 • Wash gently with cleanser, blot dry
 • Reapply post-treatment product if applicable
 • Wait 10 mins, apply Vaseline again
 • Avoid heat, sweating, and exercise
 • Change pillowcases daily for 7 days

🚫 What to Avoid
 • Sun exposure for 2 weeks
 • Scrubbing or picking at flaking skin
 • Normal skincare routine until cleared by provider
 • Excessive heat or sweat (e.g., sauna, gym) for 2 weeks
